Amazon … As Disaster Relief Partner

I have to admit, I’m a “buy local” kind of person. I’m of the opinion that small business retail is what help make a community thrive so I have never been a big Amazon fan and only after exhausting all local avenues for things I need do I go to the convenience and ease of on-line Amazon shopping. However, now that Amazon has stepped into the emergency disaster world with their ability to source large quantities of supplies and the skills of immediate fulfillment, the role they play could positively impact communities in many life saving ways and my skeptical opinion of Amazon may be swayed. 

The Disaster Relief by Amazon Team partners with non-profit and government agencies all over the world so, when disaster strikes, Amazon sends requested supplies to the disaster area. Amazon pre-plans with their partners and has developed specific “playbooks” of processes and procedures so when disasters strike, Amazon is ready to act when the partner reaches out for help.
