My GO-bag arrived with the essentials to survive if I need to get out of my home for a while. I filled in the plan, talked the plan over with family and friends, photocopied essential documents, added prescriptions and a little cash. Now, I'm ready to make the GO-bag my own - finish it with some personal items that’ll keep me comfortable when I have to be away from home on a moment's notice.
Some of the things I would consider including:
- Toilet paper
- Contact lens solution
- My children’s favorite books/toys
- My favorite book
- A change of clothing, especially a dry pair of socks
- Gum or other mints
- Hair/skin products I like to use
- A hat
- Anything else I use on a daily basis
Preparing is scary but being prepared is comforting. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” I’m prepared.
