FEMA is responding to current hurricane and excessive rainfall occurrences by releasing a “Steer Clear of Flooded Roads” directive, including:
- Never drive on flooded roads - almost half of flood deaths happen in vehicles.
- 6 inches of water is enough to cause you to lose control of your vehicle.
- If you encounter flood waters on a roadway, Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
Not only are flooded roadways a problem, flash floods have become a more normal occurrence. Because of surprise flash floods, we believe every car should have a window break and seatbelt cutting device to help you escape a sinking car. These window break/seatbelt cutting tools are readily available on the market in all shapes, sizes and prices. And, although we generally like to shop locally, Amazon may be the place to go to buy this safety device.
